Jump training facility

The jump training facility consists of an all weather four furlong oval track with a sand and fibre mix.  The fences on the track  include various types of fences which consists of logs, hurdles and chase fences. The logs are  in ascending order to help build and enhance  the confidence of a horse starting off their jumping career. The five hurdle fences are of a similar  standard fence  to those being used on various  racetracks all over Ireland. The more challenging  chase fences provide a prime opportunity to develop your horses' jumping skills prior to partaking in  point to point races  or  track chase races.  It is the only all weather schooling track in Ireland that allows horses and riders to continue on their jump training circuit without the need to pull up and also allows one to adjust and select the appropriate fences depending on your horses ability and stage of jump training development.

Loose schooling ring and jumping arena

The training facility  incorporates  a loose ring that is oval in shape with jumps that can be adapted easily to  develop a young horses' confidence  at the beginning of their jumping education. It is very beneficial  for a horse to be loose jumped as  it  assists  their balance and  develops their footwork without rider interference.

The facility also  includes an  international sized jumping arena. The  arena provides a safe environment to assist with the softness of horse riding.  The arena is a top quality resource to develop the ease of control of the horse by  trotting and cantering at a controlled pace in large or small circles with the inclusion of jumping as appropriate. This develops the strength and conditioning of the horses physique. Adjacent to the arena is a collection of cross country jumps that further develop the horses jumping ability on grass and in a varied environment.

Paddocks and stables

We have  a number of stables on site that are well ventilated, have rubber mats on the floor and anti weave grilles on doors.

There are approximately 100 acres of limestone land for the cattle, sheep and horses to graze on the farm. The variation of animals helps create a diverse natural environment for the horses to thrive.

The grass gallop is approximately one mile around which is on rich limestone land.  It is a valuable resource which  simulates a real life race track.  The grass gallop is used extensively as  part of our diverse training regime for both young and experienced horses.
